Greetings,

First of all, we would like to apologize for the silence lately, there were a few things we needed to figure out before jumping into the conversation. Thank you all so much for your patience!
Of course, we know that you all have concerns and many questions. We have been silent, but we have been doing a lot of reading during this transition. Let’s start with responses for a couple of your biggest questions and concerns.

What will the future look like for the games?

We saw many questions asking about the future of these games. Those questions are largely about new content, fixes to existing bugs, and the changes to the Trion staff members. For sure we kept the necessary resources to ensure that there is movement within and around the games.
Generally speaking, we can tell you that the patch schedule is likely to shift somewhat, but we will make sure that all of you can enjoy new content on a regular basis. Also, the developers will continue providing you with updates through Producer letters, so all of you will have a little look behind the scenes as well.

Creator Programs

We are putting the Creator Program on hold for the time being. Effectively managing a program of that size was a huge task and we want to be sure that if we launch the program again down the road it will be a great experience for everyone. Therefore, we will revisit this in the weeks ahead and keep all of you updated on our progress. Thank you for your understanding.

New languages available soon to support you!

Something we’re thrilled to announce is that in the coming weeks we are going to implement German and French Customer Support and Community Management. You can contact all of us in English, of course, but we believe that giving you the possibility to express yourselves in your native language is always better. On the same note, we do not rule out adding additional languages down the road.

Some more surprises are coming, but we don’t want to spoil those quite yet! We still want to give you a small hint: communication, support and entertainment are our three main concerns and you can count on some changes and improvements in this direction.

We are all gamers and we understand how important transparency and open-mindedness are, so please feel free to raise your concerns and suggestions, we will do our best to make this community stronger than ever!

Long story short: we are happy to be here and if you have any question, feel free to post them as a comment to this thread. Each Community Manager is going to introduce himself/herself on Monday personally.

Looking forward to meeting you all!
Your Atlas Community Team

Hello AnneBonny!

Thank you for the ice-breaking thread. You are welcome to join AR's discord server or any CM that will be affected to Atlas Reactor. Please DM me so I put roles accordingly specifying if you're from Trion or Gamigo.

EDIT:

As Holyroller said on Rift Forums, I'm intrigued as how much the gamertokens will affect the transactions of the game, if it will affect it at all.

As for the game updates, I'm a bit at a loss with all the Trion developers that have been laid off. Will Gamigo take all the lead on development or a collaboration between with the rest of Trion and Gamigo? We've seen not so much new content recently (before Gamigo) so I'm interested to see what you guys will be able to do on a regular basis.

So happy to see this, and excited to hear more detail on what the patch/content schedule will look like. I’m new to the game and really only found it because of all the articles about the acquisition, so I guess my big question is how you guys plan to continue to bring new people to the game and maintain a healthy player base overall.

Hooray, I can get my pha to level 300 now.

It is good to hear that the game will continue.

Landing my new job and hearing Atlas will stay open is one of my best weeks ever

Im very excited to see the responses here. Im going to ask if you are able to advertise more? I think one of the largest failings of this game is the lack of advertisement. Yes I kno advertisement is expensive. But when I asked the older devs what their thoughts were on advertisement their only response was "word of mouth is the best advertisement"

And yet the game still did not have the # of players it should despite being an amazing game. The word needs to get out about this game if you want it to succeed.

Good day, Atlas players! :)

First of all, thanks for the nice welcoming!

I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can. The current status is following:

- the plan is to keep the development of the games remain in the US team
- there is no discussion to implement Gamertoken in Trion Games
- our marketing team is currently looking at the games and what we can do to promote them and bring new players into the games. What I can already tell you is that the coming French and German support will help getting players from Europe.

On a side note, I've joined Discord, Bonny#3039
Beware the ban hammer! :P

Pirately yours,
Bonny

Hello new team, greetings from South-West Germany!

I don't really have a question per se, just wanting to write down something that's been on my mind since the acquisition made the news.

Your company just acquired a handful of very creative games with a small to medium sized, but very dedicated community behind them. Not every mainly Europe based company has the chance to just purchase multiple global fan bases like this, but I'm sure you're aware of this.
I hope that you'll keep the Trion games maintained and updated and don't just "use" the opportunity for a quick buck. Not saying that's what's going to happen or making accusations! (The current gaming market just leaves people very weary, sadly...)

There have been fear-mongers around recently that post a lot of negative things on Gamigo, other acquired games, etc. but I don't plan to make any judgments based solely on those reddit or Steam posts.

So what I'm trying to say is: Hi and welcome. Please, please keep Atlas Reactor running, advertised and maintained. It's really one of a kind and deserves to become more well known. They were even starting up an eSports scene.

Let me welcome you here and thank you for keeping our favorite game going! I am a player with over 2900 hours in game and over $100 invested in Atlas Reactor so this is great news.

Tell us what WE can do to help!

Now to ask a favor :)

Season 7 is only 12 weeks long. If Season 7 was shortened 3 weeks from 15 to 12 because Season 6 was extended from 15 to 18 the extra experience gained in Season 6 does not help getting the season levels in Season 7. Getting 150 levels, for the top title, in 12 weeks will be a grind. Please consider extending Season 7 back to 15 as Season 6 was set at initially.

Thank you

I wonder how fast this will be deleted. Probably in under 30 minutes.

First - Trion getting sold to the Gamigo is a disaster. They will ruin the games that were lovingly crafted by the caring Trion hands in half a year. Mark my words. Laying off 90% of the staff who knew the ins and outs of those games is a clear sign of " the competent and effective managers". To start with - Trion's financial situation that lead to this, happened exactly because those guys refused to make they games into the moneymilking machines, they cared for the players and supported the games even despite suffering financial losses. Trion team - no matter what, i will never forget you guys, thank you for this attitude. Gamigo, on the other hand, exists solely to grab the players purse and never letting it go and the effect of this former Trion games players will feel soon enough, no doubt.

Second - starting your CM work from threatening forum population, almost non-existent as is, with the banhammer is the way to go. Thats exactly how you calm down the playerbase, yep, by forcefully making them to shut up. Kinda shows what Gamigo has in store for us. Not like i'm scared though, i have no intention to yeld to the new administration no matter how many times that hammer swings.

Third - AR players, with the community as small as ours we all know each other by name for a long time now. Don't just happily wag your tails for the new master, remember your pride and fighting spirit that you showed during our matches. Take everything, that comes out of Gamigo with a bag of salt. This ship is heading stright on the rocks and i want you to know it. If by some crazy, impossible chance by the september 1st 2019, this game would still be afloat, with an increased playerbase, regular updates and new features and without turning into a money-grabbing monstrosity, i will admit that i was wrong. But for now i will silently observe the upcoming epic crash, mourning the fired Trion team.

Hey Bonny, say hello to Jack for me!

This game failed their promotional champaign hardly. Actually, it almost never existed. Hope yours will be better.

Also, game suffers a lot because lack of content. Please, concider making a unique stuff that was previously a seasonal rewards avalable to purchase for either iso or flux, or even both combines. All those overcons, and now - even cool taunts are used by minority of players who could perform insane grind, while all the rest players have nothing to spent their currency. I am also not sure how hard for new team will be developing stuff like taunts, vfx'es and stuff like that, but adding more of any type of content, starting from small things mentioned above, and ending on maps and champs are always good.

And also please concider reverting season missions mechanics to how they were at the start of the game. Being unable to complete them because you missed the time window are simply stupid, they all should be from the start and till the end of season.

They need to release items for MONEY. Does that sound greedy? Well, how else can a Free2Play game make money? Employees cost money, so do servers, etc. Emblems, banners, like $1, taunts like $2, there are already skins for sale for $3-$5, we need more cosmetic ONLY items for sale that can create revenue for the game.

Uhm "suffering financial losses" is EXACTLY why we are in this mess. How can a Free2Play game make money? Employees cost money, so do servers, etc. You want everything for FREE? Well, say goodbye to Atlas Reactor.

How can a Free2Play game make money?

They obviously can't make money at all. That's why we don't have any free2play games on the market. Every game in existense needs to be subscription based or heavily pay2win. It woud be good if f2p games could exist, but well thats impossible, right? They can't earn money at all right? We all know too well that league of legends, world of tanks, mechwarrior online, warframe and the rest are just a stupid darknet rumors. F2P cant exist in this world and we all know that.

Read the entire post. My point was How can a Free2Play game make money if you want everything for free? Those games succeed because they are, as you put it " moneymilking machines" That was my point. You praised the AR devs for keeping the game going despite financial losses, so let me ask you this, how can Atlas Reactor make money and NOT become a " moneymilking machine" ?

All we need is more money exclusive cosmetics that are actually worth it. Some premium vfx effects would work too, I always wondered why that isn't thing. Or something similar to the special vfx of the mastery skin, but you can put it on any skin you want. I'd love to throw more money to support my favorite hidden gem, but atm there barely is anything I could use my money for.

What I wouldn't like to see is anything that gives unfair advantages, even like experience boosts that are only aquireable via microtransactions. That way people that want to race a new character for example to be the first level 20 wouldn't have a chance without spending money - that would suck.

I really hope gamigo finds a balanced way to support this game without ruining it

Let us face reality, AR will NEVER be a huge hit like Fortnight or Civ. Action gamers hate the turn based aspect, turn base fans hate the timer. I buy cosmetic items that I don't like such as the Blackburn bug skins just to support the game but are there enough people that love cosmetic items that will buy enough stuff to make enough money to make a profit.

To sell items they need a bigger player base, and it must be willing to play more. I doubt many people will want that in a game where all new content is paid with real money. First give people something to have fun with, then - give luxury items for those who want more.
By the way, i suggested selling for iso and flux stuff that's already in game, just locked for majority of players.

Oh, and also, release on other platforms + crossplay with pc (why no? in turn-based games nobody have the advantage) will help AR a lot.

The problem is the game needs to make money NOW. Releasing on other platforms will COST money. You really think after firing 200 Trion employees there are enough skilled people to create ports for other platforms? You think Gamigo will invest in that? Heck, we cannot even get a follow up post from our new Community Managers.

In the light of the recent game shutdown announcement i have only one thing to say: "I told you."
